Rio Rancho’s elevation is 5,290 ft. We have approximately 300 days of sunshine. There is little to no risk of natural disasters, and our high desert climate provides residents with a mild, four season climate.

The cost of living is nearly 10 points below the national average. Housing in Rio Rancho is most favorable, scoring 84.5. Our utilities are also affordable with a score of 92.5 and misellaneous goods/services scored at 90.6.

Violenct crime in Rio Rancho is one of the lowest in the state! The FBI Uniform Crime reports show Rio Rancho only had 220 incidents of violent crime per 100,000 residents, surpassing the national average.
