Local Restaurant Receives Donation to Feed Police Officers

Rio Rancho, NM – On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Slate Street Grille in Rio Rancho will serve fresh, hot meals to the Rio Rancho Police Department. Steve Ricar and Todd Mack, owners of Slate Street Grille, received an anonymous donation last week and will be matching the donation to provide lunch for all officers. “We received a call from a man who wanted to do something nice for our police officers.”, said Todd Mack. “After we coordinated with Chief Steele for the best time to feed everyone, we decided to cover the rest of the costs to feed more officers.”

Slate Street Grille has a long history of raising money for area non-profits and supporting our first responders.  “This is another example of our residents and a great business coming together to recognize our police officers, who protect this community every day.” Said Jerry Schalow, President of The Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce.  Slate Street Grille will deliver COVID-safe meals during lunch and dinner this Thursday to Rio Rancho Police officers. Mack added, “We’re so happy we can show our appreciation to these men and women who put their lives on the line every day.”

Slate Street Grille is located at 2003 Southern Blvd. SE, #139, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Their phone number is (505) 994-0363. You can also learn more about Slate Street Grille by calling Jerry Schalow at the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce at 505-892-1533.
