Generations have marched down the aisle to “Pomp and Circumstance”, walked across a stage to receive a diploma, moved their tassels from right to left and tossed their caps into the air while friends and family members cheered from the stands and confetti showered down among the sea of graduates. This year, history is being made. Over 1,200 high school graduates in Rio Rancho will receive their diplomas without the traditional bravado of past graduations. However, there will be bravado.

The Rio Rancho community is stepping up in a big way. Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, Rio Rancho Deputy Mayor Bob Tyler, local businesses and Rio Rancho Public
Schools have joined together to organize and recognize Rio Rancho Class of 2020 graduating seniors with a “Field of Grads” tribute. This will be the inaugural display, kicking off Rio Rancho’s “Class of 2020 Day” celebration on May 27, 2020.
