Rio Rancho Regional Chamber Hosts First Annual Virtual Chalk Fiesta
RIO RANCHO, NM – Beginning on Monday, November 23, 2020 and going through December 5, 2020 the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Virtual Chalk Fiesta to benefit local non-profits for Giving Tuesday.
The Chalk Fiesta is a COVID Safe Event that can be done anywhere and submissions are being accepted from adults, kids and families. The theme is “What are you thankful for?” Submissions begin as soon as November 23, 2020 and will be accepted through December 5, 2020. Voting starts December 5th and will go through December 9th. Winners for each category will be announced on December 10th . “This event is an opportunity for our community, region and state to show their artistic abilities and have fun at home.” Says Jerry Schalow, President of the Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Rio Rancho’s 1st Chalk Fiesta is a fun and safe way to promote art, goodwill, generosity, and kindness in our community. The event is centered around Giving Tuesday and will bring attention to all the local non-profits in the community and encourage local giving, volunteering, and support,” Non-Profit Alliance Chairperson Neal Shotwell says. “Keeping in spirit with the season and the times, this is a virtual contest with a theme that provides an opportunity to show what we are thankful for during this tough year.”
The Rio Rancho Regional Chamber is intending on making the Chalk Fiesta an annual event for Giving Tuesday. “Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement created in 2012 to unleash the power of people and organizations to transform the world by doing acts of kindness at the local level,” Shotwell says. Giving Tuesday inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Join us for this event and give locally!”
